THE PASSION & POWER OF SPORT

AY-PE was commissioned to produce 30 wide ranging AVs and interactives for the World Rugby Museum at the famous Twickenham Stadium. Multimedia experiences ranged from the birth of Rugby and its tumultuous growth, through to the present sport and the many people who make it, plus interactively live testing visitors in their rugby playing skills.

Educational and immersive, all audio-visual experiences were designed to appeal to a global, multi-cultural audience, whilst inspiring schoolchildren upwards into sports, science and media.

IMMERSIVE RUGBY

We produced a wide range of digital interactive experiences to convey the drama, physicality and operation of the sport.

These included camera motion tracking and gesture technology - getting visitors  physically engaged with rugby by testing their endurance, strength and kicking skills, live in WRM's interactive zone.

Other interactives included: updateable, CRM driven choose your own ‘dream team’, create your own live commentary on a game, selectable interview films and edits on the Rugby World Cup and how to be a part of the sport.

FILMS & PROJECTIONS

Diverse films and projections immerse visitors in the depths of rugby, featuring:

- A bold, circular, floor projection which explores the spread of Rugby throughout the world.

- A dual screen display of the historical rule book, with bitesized information and layers of bespoke motion graphic characters, illustrations, moving archive and kinetic typography.

- A projection mapped, motion display of the Rugby Schism between Union and League, dramatised through animated newspaper pages and headlines, accompanied by bespoke, evocative song, characteristic of the sport in the 1930s.

MAKING CONNECTIONS

Edits, new interviews and motion graphic pieces also inspire audiences in a variety of messages: from captivating fans in the Anthems, to explaining the science of the sport, to encouraging visitors to take part in a Haka.
